Not all dreams can come true, not even kings or emperors' fads.
Chinese are famous for many great achievements: the Great Wall of China, the invention of the gunpowder, papermaking, printing, etc.
So, maybe in one of those emperors was the idea or desire of going to the Moon.
Well, not a bad idea, after all, but ...there is a time for everything, rockets, computers, etc.
